Giving the Assistant a Brain: The ChatMoni DNA Engine

27 Oct 2026 · News

The DNA engine moved ChatMoni toward assistants grounded in each business’s own knowledge, with guided onboarding designed for non-technical owners.

A useful AI assistant needs more than a chat box. In April 2025, we focused on the business knowledge that makes answers relevant, consistent, and genuinely useful.

From conversation interface to business understanding

The first widget proved the interface could be useful, but a chat window alone was never enough. An assistant can only represent a business well if it understands what that business does, what it offers, how it operates, and how it wants to communicate.

Introducing DNA

In April 2025, we built the foundation of what we called the DNA engine. The idea was to let a business provide its real information and use that material to shape the assistant’s knowledge. Instead of forcing every owner to write every answer from scratch, the system would help turn existing business details into a usable knowledge base.

Real business information, not invented confidence

A good business assistant should be grounded in the business’s actual services, policies, products, and processes. That means treating source information as the foundation, organising it into useful knowledge, and making it easier to update when the business changes. The goal is not an assistant that sounds confident about everything. It is one that can give relevant answers based on what it has been taught.

Guided onboarding matters

We also recognised that onboarding could not assume every business owner was technical. Guided setup became part of the experience: make it easier to provide the right information, understand what the assistant has learned, and refine the result without needing to become an AI specialist.

A foundation for the platform ahead

DNA helped move ChatMoni from a generic chat tool toward a business-specific assistant. It also established a pattern that would later support richer workflows: collect useful business context, organize it, and make that context available wherever the business needs it.
